Renewed: Bosch confirms final season

Titus Welliver crime drama gets a 7th and final season.

US drama Bosch has been renewed for a seventh and final season.

The series starring Titus Welliver, will draw on Michael Connelly’s novels “The Concrete Blonde” and “The Burning Room,” with Harry Bosch and Jerry Edgar “pursuing two separate but perilous murder investigations that will take them to the highest levels of white collar crime and the deadly depths of the street level drug trade.”

“I’m proud of what we have accomplished with Bosch and look forward to completing the story in season 7,” said Connelly in a statement. “It’s bittersweet but all good things come to an end and I am happy that we will be able to go out the way we want to. This started seven years ago with showrunner Eric Overmyer and me writing the pilot. We plan to write the last episode together as well.

“We’ll leave behind the longest running show so far on Amazon and it will be there to be discovered by new viewers for as long as people are streaming. That is amazing to me. The other thing is that we would not have come all this way without Titus Welliver. There could not have been a better actor to play this role or a better team player to build this show around. He’ll be Harry Bosch for the ages.”

Although Bosch is produced by Amazon Studios its Australian premiere still screens at SBS, and Amazon Prime thereafter.

  1. Add my voice to those lamenting the show’s demise. I thought this past season dragged a little, but as my Dad would have said “it’s like comparing 95% with 98%”. The Bosch novels have been my go-to Xmas/NY read for about 15 years now. I thought it might have gone into 8 and out. But I’m glad it’s an exit on the writers’ terms. Agree with Jamie’s comments that the cast orbit around Titus. I initially was very surprised hearing Mimi Rogers’ casting, but she’s been great.

  2. Based on published release dates the Bosch season 7 finale wont be released until April 2021, so with season 6 also scheduled for release this April Bosch fans shouldn’t be too sad, at least not just yet.
Bosch is a great binge watch but Titus Welliver is the primary reason the show holds itself together, the great supporting cast orbit around him, having said that Lance Reddick is another reason I enjoy the show, his acting style doesn’t change much but he just grabs the attention.
