Renewed: Godfather of Harlem

US crime drama with Forest Whitaker gets a second season.

US crime drama Godfather of Harlem, starring Forest Whitaker, has been renewed for a second season.

A 10-episode second season, created by Chris Brancato and Paul Eckstein (Narcos), will commence production in New York later this year.

The series tells a story inspired by infamous crime boss Bumpy Johnson (Whitaker), who in the early 1960s returned from eleven years in prison to find the neighbourhood he once ruled controlled by the Italian mob.

It has also featured Vincent D’Onofrio, Ilfenesh Hadera, Nigél Thatch, Giancarlo Esposito, Australia’s own Lucy Fry.

Godfather of Harlem screens in Australia on Stan.

  1. I didn’t care for the show too much last year… it didn’t seem compelling enough for this type of show imo.
    I will watch S2 tho I think…
