Report: Perpetual Grace Ltd. to wrap with further episodes

US noir series Perpetual Grace, Ltd starring Ben Kingsley, Jacki Weaver and Jimmi Simpson will not be renewed for a second season but will film new episodes to wrap its story.

Deadline reports a short limited run of episodes will conclude the first season, but will not constitute a second season. Talks are underway on the number of episodes.

Cable network Epix felt the drama had run its course, but given it ended on an unresolved note, wanted to give its story closure.

Perpetual Grace, Ltd follows James (Simpson), a young grifter, as he attempts to prey upon Pastor Byron Brown (Kingsley), who turns out to be far more dangerous than he suspects. The pastor and his wife Lillian (Weaver)—known to their parishioners as Pa and Ma—have used religion to bilk hundreds of innocent people out of their life savings.
