See-Saw Films hires development producer

Billy Bowring joins from Fremantle to develop new television titles.

See-Saw Films (Top of the Lake, The End, The New Legends of Monkey, Lion) has hired Billy Bowring as Development Producer to advance the company’s Australian television titles.

He joins from Fremantle where he was Development Manager on their drama slate including Wentworth and Picnic at Hanging Rock. He was previously production assistant for Number 9 Films (Hyena, Carol).

Executive Producer Rachel Gardner says “We are thrilled to have Billy join the See-Saw team as we continue to expand our Australian slate and output. We wanted to work with someone who shares our taste, drive and ambition. Billy joins us with fantastic credentials and talent relationships, and we are delighted to have him on board.”

Bowring adds, “There is such extraordinary opportunity at the moment for Australian stories and voices to reach international audiences, so I’m excited to be joining See-Saw, a company with a proven track record of creative excellence and integrity in the stories they tell. I can’t wait to get started.”

See-Saw is currently filming Jane Campion’s The Power of the Dog starring Benedict Cumberbatch and Kirsten Dunst and in post-production on The North Water. Later this year it will film Slow Horses Gary Oldman for Apple TV.

Based in Sydney Australia, Bowring begins immediately and reports to Rachel Gardner and Head of Television Jamie Laurenson,
