Airdate: The Undoing

HBO thriller with Nicole Kidman & Hugh Grant to screen same time as the US.

HBO six-part psychological thriller The Undoing, starring Nicole Kidman and Hugh Grant, is coming to FOX Showcase.

Based on The New York Times bestselling novel You Should Have Known by Jean Hanff Korelitz, it is directed by Susanne Bier and created and written for television by David E. Kelley, who also serves as showrunner. The cast also features Donald Sutherland.

“David has created another propulsive series with a fascinating, complicated female role at its centre,“ said Kidman.

The Undoing follows Grace Fraser (Kidman), a successful New York City therapist, and her husband Jonathan (Grant) who are living the only lives they ever wanted for themselves. Overnight, a chasm opens in their lives: a violent death, a missing spouse and a chain of terrible revelations. Left behind in the wake of a spreading and very public disaster and horrified by the ways in which she has failed to heed her own advice, Grace must dismantle one life and create another for her child and her family.

Joining Kidman and Grant on screen are Edgar Ramirez (The Assassination of Gianni Versace), Ismael Cruz Cordova (Mary Queen of Scots), Matilda De Angelis (Il Premio), Lily Rabe (American Horror Story), Noma Dumezweni (Mary Poppins Returns), Noah Jupe (A Quiet Place 2) as Henry Fraser, Jonathan and Grace’s 12-year-old son and Donald Sutherland (The Hunger Games) as Grace’s protective father.

The series is executive produced by Nicole Kidman and Per Saari through Blossom Films, Susanne Bier, David E. Kelley through David E. Kelley Productions, Bruna Papandrea through Made Up Stories, Stephen Garrett and Celia Costas.

Updated: this has now been delayed in the US.
