Foxtel music channels highlight home-grown artists

MAX, CMC and [V] do their bit for artists & music industry professionals.

Foxtel music channels MAX, CMC and [V] will broadcast all-Australian music commencing from 9am every Monday from April 6, to support Australian artists.

With the music industry impacted by COVID-19, Foxtel partners with industry charity, Support Act, which provides crisis relief to affected personnel, including artists, roadies and other music professionals who have lost their entire income.

Fraser Stark, Foxtel’s Group General Manager, Entertainment & Music, said: “As we enter a time of untold disruption it’s good to remember that we’ll get through this together and, when we do come together, it will certainly be with song. Musicians, and the wider live performance industry, have been immediately hit with the closure of venues and festivals. To hold a torch during this difficult impasse, [V], MAX and CMC are proud to play all-Australian music each Monday from April 6. We’ll use the moment to draw attention (and donations from those who can spare it) to the fine work of Support Act – which is already out there supporting artists in tough times.”

Clive Miller, Support Act CEO said: “Artists, crew and music workers are facing a bleak and uncertain financial future and are sometimes amongst the most vulnerable with regards to mental health and wellbeing. Please help us to support our music workers through this difficult period and help them be in a position to bounce back louder and prouder than ever once the pandemic has passed.”

For decades, [V] has prided itself discovering the superstars of tomorrow by supporting new and emerging artists from around the country. At the beginning of many careers, for artists such as 5 Seconds Of Summer, Delta Goodrem, The Veronicas and Tones and I, [V] has championed and helped break these superstar acts by unveiling their brand new videos, offering support through high rotation on [V] with on line support across [V]’s website and socials.

CMC is Australia’s only television destination for country music and will celebrate Australian country music legends including Lee Kernaghan, Troy Cassar-Daley, Adam Brand, Christie Lamb, The McClymonts and Morgan Evans, who the channel signed on as presenter, host and ambassador back in 2014 and now celebrates his success of making it to the international stage.

MAX is the soundtrack to your life from iconic anthems to modern classics, MAX delivers the greatest hits from the 70’s to the 00’s. MAX will celebrate the greatest Aussie icons and their legendary hits from artists including John Farnham, Jimmy Barnes, AC/DC, Powderfinger, Hunters and Collectors, Divinyls, Kylie and Midnight Oil.

Foxtel music channels are proud to shine a brighter light on our incredible Australian music and to be able to support and promote Support Act to generate awareness for this incredible industry by visiting www.supportact.org.au and by tuning in to MAX, CMC or [V] to enjoy the best of what Australian music has to offer, every Monday April 6 from 9am.

Support Act is a proud member of Sound of Silence (SOS)- a national initiative to bring immediate relief for an industry at the existential brink.

*Due to 1000 Greatest Songs of All Time on MAX will air across the Easter Long Weekend to Monday April 13th. All-Aussie music resumes the following Monday April 20.
