Sarah Ferguson’s start as ABC’s China Bureau Chief has been delayed while she awaits a visa.

The former Four Corners presenter will soon unveil her high-profile documentary Revelation, which begins March 17 on ABC.

Very curious about the delays here and what is meant by Ferguson’s “China relations with the foreign media is often fraught. It’s a complicated relationship”. An interesting start to a tenure as a Chinese correspondent ~ is Ferguson’s role to bend the knee to the country she’s corresponding from in order to maintain access, or report frankly in the interest of the audience she serves. Challenging position, I’m sure.

I should also say that Stephen McDonell, the former ABC Beijing Bureau Chief and now BBC China Correspondent has continued his excellent reporting.
