9Rush will hit the ground running wth brand new Top Gear at 7pm Sunday April 5 on Channel 96.
The series kicks off with Freddie Flintoff, Chris Harris and Paddy McGuinness testing cars in the searing heat of Ethiopia.
The new male-skewing adrenaline channel is a joint venture between Nine and Discovery and is built around “themed nights.”
Sunday: Best of British Motoring (Top Gear, Million Dollar Car Hunters, Salvage Hunters)
Monday: Buried Treasure (Gold Rush, Bearing Sea Gold)
Tuesday: Survival (Man vs Wild, Running Wild with Bear Grylls, Naked & Afraid)
Wednesday: Rust to Riches Cars (Diesel Brothers, Misfit Garage, Kindig Customs)
Thursday: Outlaw Cars (Shifting Gears with Aaron Kaufman, Street Outlaws)
Friday: Cops (Cops UK, Live PD)
Saturday: Off the Grid Living (Homestead Rescue, Alaskan Bush People)
“Discovery produces this kind of content in very clear themes, so it was easy to group the content up and create thematic nights,” said Geoff Dyer, Nine’s Director of Network Scheduling.

In a similar vein to the above commenters, I am very well aware that the Discovery channels has programs with diverse topics such as history, architecture, natural history and science.
9Rush’s program is a narrow subset of the full range of programs on offer by the Discovery channel.
Some of the programs on 9Rush are in a similar vein to what’s on offer on 7Mate. They go on the themes of chasing cars, chasing gold, trucks working in the outback and/or snow-covered roads and adventures in croc-infested waters. To a limited extent ABC2 used to have “River Monsters” with the presenter’s one-on-one encounters with piranhas, sharks and skin-gouging lampreys.
Thank you,

I was interested in Naked & Afraid and went to their website to preview it. The dreaded pixelations and blurring was rampant. Why oh why can’t we see a naked show without these rotten pixelations?
It would be pixelated by producers not network. Try SBS I think they have one.
Yawn!! Don’t see myself watching this channel ever …. FreeTV really needs to think of something new or old to get viewers, this channel just sounds like a worse version of 7mate
I can’t see myself ever watching by this channel, much like the rest of the multi channels.
Isn’t Discovery a documentary channel? I assumed 9 Rush would be showing mainly documentaries.
It used to be a documentary channel, but it more reality now sadly.
Discovery networks own different channels, it’s not all animal docos & science…. so 9Rush is drawing upon a mix.
