      1. Just found on YouTube The late Show and The Daily Show hosts doing shorter online shows with a bit of news and mocking from their homes, Tonight show and others doing likewise. Fun they can easily do stuff like this with minimal support, at least its something but I think both are off next week because of previous scheduled breaks.

  1. I wonder how soon it will be before we see Australian scripted shows following suit. I imagine some difficult conversations will be being had in the next week or so, if not already.

    1. Most of the above shows are in production *while* the current season is airing (many U.S. scripted shows are shot about a month or two, give or take, before broadcast), while Aussie shows are usually produced in bulk and not aired until the entire season is completed (and shows often sit in the vault for months, and occasionally even over a year before broadcast!).

      1. Yeah, but . there are shows like Home and Away and Neighbours that have to film throughout the year. They do in advance, so they will have a limited stockpile, but if this goes on for months, which it very well may, they’ll need contingency plans. Filling the timeslot will be fine, the network can just do reruns (I’m sure Home and Away: The Early Years would be a welcome return), it’s more about the impact on cast and crew who rely on the work. Writers can keep writing, but directors, PAs, actors, etc. not so easy.

    2. A number of the shows listed should have been close to being wrapped up or are well into production, so one could presume they will be finished and eventually released.
You would have to expect some big financial losses in the TV and movie studios this year, which could have a flow on effect to the overcapitalized global streaming services as well.
