Will Old People’s Home for 4 Year Olds film a second season?

"Watch this space," says executive producer of hit ABC series.

It was a runaway hit for ABC last year, but will ABC be getting a second season of Old People’s Home for 4 Year Olds?”

“Watch this space,” Executive Producer Debbie Cuell said last week at the Australian International Documentary Conference.

“We wouldn’t do it exactly the same if there was a second series. But certainly that area hasn’t been explored enough yet. So there’s certainly potential there.”

The British format had a second season in the UK so a second Aussie season seems like a no-brainer. Due to the title the show would also need a new cast. TV Tonight hears whispers that while the first season had pre-schoolers visiting a retirement village a second season could potentially reverse the process, with seniors visiting kids.

  1. I still think about this show regularly and wonder how everyone is going. I will never forget Eric and Aiden, John and his books, Jax and Tyrone, and of course beautiful Grace.

I would love to see a follow up show (half an hour maybe) telling what has happened since the show.

  2. I really do hope so! If they do, I’m looking forward to seeing some of the kids from last season again, as well as some new pre-schoolers. Also, loved last year’s group of seniors, hope there will be more on board if there is another season.
