Season 1 of high concept US drama is getting a screening at SBS VICELAND.

Season 1 of high concept US drama American Gods which premiered on Amazon Prime is getting a screening at SBS VICELAND from next week.

The Starz series based on the novel by Neil Gaiman, was created by Bryan Fuller (Wonderfalls, Pushing Daisies, Hannibal) and Michael Green (Kings, The River, Heroes). It stars Ricky Whittle, Ian McShane and Emily Browning while the roll-call of names includes Pablo Schreiber, Crispin Glover, Gillian Anderson, Cloris Leachman, Orlando Jones, Kristin Chenoweth and Corbin Bernsen amongst others.

Bryan Fuller and Michael Green are writers and showrunners. David Slade (Hannibal, The Twilight Saga: Eclipse) directed the pilot and additional episodes.

The 2017 series will screen in double episodes across 4 weeks. A third season has also been filmed.

Shadow Moon is released from prison to a life turned upside down – no wife, no job, and no bearings. He is offered a job by Mr. Wednesday as a bodyguard, and as they journey across America, Shadow finds himself questioning a world where gods exist and magic is real.

Series One, Episode One: The Bone Orchard
When Shadow Moon is released from prison a few days early, following the death of his wife, he meets the enigmatic Mr. Wednesday and is conscripted into his employ as bodyguard. Attacked his first day on the job, Shadow quickly discovers that this role may be more than he bargained for.

Episode Two: The Secret Of Spoons
As Mr. Wednesday begins recruitment for the coming battle, Shadow Moon travels with him to Chicago, and agrees to a very high stakes game of checkers with the old Slavic god, Czernobog.

  1. Loved this series. Little bit of upheaval after season 1 with budget cuts and the departure of the showrunner and the fantastic Gillian Anderson so I haven’t seen season 2, but this is a ripper.
