Report: Police to warn Nine over MAFS contestants

NSW cops want Nine & producers to take greater control over contestants filing disputes with police.

NSW Police are fed up with Married at First Sight contestants reportedly drawing on police time, filing reports with a paparazzo in tow.

“It has happened a lot this year. We take all police reports seriously, but what’s happening with MAFS contestants is a gee-up. We are in the midst of 24/7 dramas,” an unnamed senior police officer has told The Sunday Telegraph.

“To my mind, their agent is just trying to get them some cash for a story,” they continued.

“If there is no pap there, no one is going to know about it and no one is going to write about it.”

He plans to tell Nine and producers Endemol Shine Australia to take greater control for disputes before the next season.

It was not suggested the contestants themselves organised the paparazzi to be at police stations when reports were filed.
