Returning: Aussie Salvage Squad

Observational series will see its second season premiere on Discovery.

Observational series Aussie Salvage Squad, which previously premiered Season 1 on 7mate, will see its second season premiere on Discovery in May.

The series also promise  “an all-new format, following Team Salvage as they embark on a variety of salvage missions in and around the stunning south coast of Western Australia.”

It should also come to 7mate later…

From the picturesque location of coastlines, wineries, farms, and native forests, the team tackle budget constraints and time critical circumstances that bump up the pressure and thrill factor like never-before.

This season, the Salvage team takes on a mix of land and water-based jobs, and bigger, dirtier, and noisier self-contained jobs, with each episode following one extreme salvage mission. Not only are their incredible efforts documented on camera, but so is the plight behind some of these tasks, as you learn about the value and backstory to some of these incidents. Changing weather conditions, equipment failure, miscommunication, and wild animals all serve as new adversaries from an emergency SOS call at sea, to saving a special piece of history. They relocate vessels in a boat graveyard to prevent environmental hazard, venture into a nature reserve swarming with mosquitoes and swamp snakes, and – if that’s not enough – they have just 24-hours and a shoe-string budget for a job that’s hazardous, toxic, and usually takes five days!

The series returns with more grit and determination to get the job done, as the team meet every challenge head-on – and know how to have a little fun along the way. Expect big personalities, high-risk jobs, sentimental moments, and the unexpected.

8:30pm Wednesday May 20 on Discovery.
