Cast members of The Nanny are reuniting -sort of- for a virtual table read via Zoom, which will be posted on the Sony Pictures YouTube page on Monday, April 6.
The reunion includes Fran Drescher, Charles Shaughnessy, Daniel Davis, Lauren Lane, Nicholle Tom, Benjamin Salisbury, Madeline Zima, Renee Taylor, Alex Sternin, Ann Hampton Callaway, DeeDee Rescher, Rachel Chagall and Jonathan Penner. James Marsden is the only member of the original cast who will not be returning.
“Laughter is the best medicine! So, in these challenging times, Petah and I thought, wouldn’t it be great if we pulled together the original cast of The Nanny for a virtual read of the pilot?” said Drescher in a statement, referring to the show’s co-creator, Peter Marc Jacobson. “It’s a once in a lifetime Pandemic Performance for our fans around the world who are currently stressing in isolation and could use a real upper! It sure has given each of us a lift and we hope it does for you as well.”

I’m surprised Madeline Zimba is doing this. Didn’t she say she was treated like an object during the shows run ?
Maybe she’s just really, really bored. ?
Brighton Sheffield looks older than his dad.
From memory james played a waiter ans was maggies first kiss? Loved the nanny!
I couldn’t remember James Marsden being a part of The Nanny at all. According to wiki he was in 2 episodes! Not sure that counts as a missing cast member lol.
Same I had to goggle lol
As Fran said, though, it’s a table reading of the pilot episode, so anyone who appeared in that episode who isn’t participating in the table read could be described as being “missing”. Note in the photo above that they even have the actor who played Danny (Fran’s original fiancee) appearing, as well as the actress who played someone called “Dottie” (I have no recollection of her at all). James deserves to be described as “missing” 🙂
Oh right, yeah that makes sense I never thought of it that way. Indeed missing then.
Love this idea…?
