After being adding it to iview last week, High Fidelity will now broadcast on ABC Comedy from tomorrow night.

The 10 part half hour series, based on the novel by Nick Hornby, stars Zoë Kravitz, daughter of Lenny Kravitz and Lisa Bonet (X-Men: First Class, Divergent, Mad Max: Fury Road). It also stars Da’Vine Joy Randolph, David H. Holmes, Jake Lacy, and Kingsley Ben-Adir.

The  story was also adapted into a feature film in 2000 and a Broadway musical in 2006.

This premiered in the US in February.

Sometimes you gotta face the music. After 5 heartbreaks…it’s finally time to face the music. A departure from Nick Hornby’s 1995 novel and beloved 2000 film, the High Fidelity TV series centres on Rob (Zoë Kravitz, who also serves as an executive producer), a record store owner in the rapidly gentrified neighbourhood of Crown Heights, Brooklyn who revisits past relationships through music and pop culture, while trying to get over her one true love.

9pm Thursday on ABC Comedy.

  1. I’ve commented about this elsewhere on the site but as a fan of the book and Stephen Frears movie, I do recommend it. I binged it in two days on iView at the weekend. (But Lisa Bonet isn’t in it. She was Marie DeSalle in the movie).

    1. I’ve watched 4 episodes and despite my drooling over Zoe Kravitz, the show is as too-cool-for-school a show I’ve ever seen. I’m not sure it’s as good as it thinks it is. It’s enjoyable though.
