UK comedy Plebs will wrap with a finale special, after earlier reports it had been given a sixth season.
A single feature-length finale will now conclude the show after 5 seasons, with characters played by Tom Rosenthal, Ryan Sampson and Jon Pointing enlisting in the army.
Ddirector Sam Leifer said: “After five series, we wanted to go out with a bang. So we’re sending the plebs off to join the army. Unsurprisingly, they won’t cover themselves in glory or return as conquering heroes.”
The series about 20-somethings living in the ancient metropolis of Imperial Rome was due to start production in May but has been pushed back.
Plebs airs in Australia on ABC Comedy,

As the second season ended, this was one of my favourite TV shows. Kind of wish it finished up then because it was not quite the same for subsequent seasons.
