  1. Arianne Zucker is my pick for Best Lead Actress, as is Susan Seaforth Hayse for best supporting. But Thaao Penglis is an odd choice for “Leading”. Although wonderful I would have classed Tony as more of a supporting character, given he was not on screen for a good part of the year.

  2. I’m happy it’s back on Broadcast television too. The daytime dramas are getting their best numbers atm. With so many other options viewers don’t have to watch soaps anymore so it’s good to see. I wish 10 would pick up General Hospital for 3.30. It’s a perfect fit after Judge Judy and before Bold and the Beautiful.

    1. The problem with picking up a soap opera after it’s been well established is the audience have a hard time resonating with the backstory for individual characters. It ultimately leads to failure. Foxtel tried a few years ago with GH and it failed because it had been off-air For so long here before they picked it up.

Bold is the lucky one because 10 have stuck with it since day one.

      1. Yes, very true. They have tried resurrecting GH many times over the decades. The problem stemmed from the fact that when nine had it back in the late 70s and early 80s, the soap had moved to hour long episodes in the US, whilst here in Aust they were still being shown as half hour eps. It resulted in a whopping 8 year gap by the time nine gave up screening it. Ten tried twice to bring it back once in the late 80s and one in the early 90s. Those 90s episodes were great, but still didn’t last. Foxtel has tried to bring it back about three times since then. But there’s too much back story the average viewer doesn’t know about.

  3. Love the fact that CBS are going to be showing the ceremony (even.if it just highlights of major categories). This is the first time in years that a major will be showing the award show. It a boost. Loving Kelly Clarkson has the most nominations for a talk show. Still love that Susan Seaforth Hayes is nominated after how many decades on DOOL. Loving Patrika Darbo nomination. Would have thought Venice would have been nominated for more than just one. Australian actor Thaao Penghlis is nominated for lead actor for DOOL.
