Fetch TV pauses Amazon Prime rollout

An update for Fetch TV viewers awaiting the Amazon Prime app.

Some readers have been asking about the roll-out of an Amazon Prime app on Fetch TV boxes.

Last month Fetch advised the app would roll out to Fetch Mighty boxes over a 2-week period from April 21 with a Fetch Mini box update scheduled for the end June.

A Fetch spokesperson tells TV Tonight the roll-out to its retail subscriber base (direct accounts through JB Hi Fi, Harvey Norman sales) has been completed but has been paused before it extends to customers through ISPs.

They added, “…we identified some edge cases, unrelated to Amazon Prime, that we wanted to address before rolling it out to the ISP bases. So the release is currently paused, meaning our ISP customers do not currently have access to Amazon Prime Video.”

Fetch advises affected cases is less than 1% “… but in the current environment with ISP support centres impacted by COVID-19, it’s important they are fixed before further roll out so we don’t drive any additional support calls to their centres.”

Fetch expects to continue with the roll out later this month, but there is no indication yet when Amazon Prime Video for Mini boxes will start rolling out.

  1. My mighty updated a few weeks ago and have I’ve had no issues whatsoever good onya fetch waiting now for the mini update then a new UI

  2. I received the update over the weekend to access Amazon Prime. I’m yet to test it, but if it works as well as the integration with iView and SBSOnDemand, then I’ll use it. I also noticed that I have received additional channels, not sure how long I have had them, but I now receive the likes of Nat Geo, Discovery, Travel, HGTV and a few others, this is in addition to the offer of news channels during Covid19.

    1. You should also have , Animal planet, discovery Turbo, Discovery ID and some more news channels , if you can not see them , go to the guide and click in “ included “ then add them to “my channels “ visit the settings menu , if you have more than one box do a test set on all of them , so the guide will travel to them , so you don’t need an aerial on the extra boxes , have a great day !!

  3. I was lucky to be part of the Beta testing and the app works really well. Loving the additional features that app on Fetch offers such as wider view of the viewing options. It will be worth the wait.
