  1. Katy was so entertaining but not surprised. She’s been great in the past on her American Idol judging. Such a shame it’s not on air this year. It’s always great to see a fun, positive woman on TV.

  2. It’s nice to read that she never left at all during the filming of the episode and she went around to each of the contestants asking them about there dishes. I thought she was entertaining last night but also in turn she learnt things about food and tried dishes she would never had tried.

Also credit to her for honouring her commitment to come out here newly pregnant, travelling many many hours away and still coming when a new virus erupted.

  3. Katy was great on Masterchef, the surprise for the contestants, her having fun and breaking into song, what a great get for the show, whoever came up with the idea aught to be commended.

    1. Whilst taking nothing away from the people who organised this… there is a huge element to the actual star themselves and whether they are going to commit on camera when the deal is done. You could bend over backwards getting a big name like this but if Katy didn’t want to be there, it would have showed. That’s why kudos to her for making it one of the most entertaining episodes of reality tv this year. She definitely turned up and brought her A game.

  4. Like others here l thought it was sheer brilliance to bave her on. Perhaps this may pave the way for other guests that are foodies to be invited.

  5. A small thing in relation to the ratings for RBT. Nine promoted a new episode of RBT all week and then replaced it at the very last minute with a repeat of the British version of Border Security (no EPG update.) Very poor form really and just encourages distrust amongst viewers.

    1. Nine has said two new franchises are coming next year. Given their primetime schedule is loaded and successful, maybe one of them could be Tipping Point

  6. I haven’t laughed so much in a long time. The reaction of Reece & Sarah were priceless. This is a great series showing MKR what a cooking show should be.

  7. Like everyone else I loved Katy Perry and so funny. A few years ago when she was in Melbourne on a tour my daughter was her driver and she said she is genuinely a very nice person. The genuine ones make it even more special for me!

  8. Loving the new judges (and yes I didn’t think Melissa would be any good) they are lifting the show. Katy Perry always says what she thinks , love her style and she certainly knows how to work the camera.

  9. Katy Perry’s entrance into the Masterchef kitchen was a brilliantly produced moment of television. The joy of that moment spilled right through the screen into my living room. A great episode with some genuinely hilarious moments.

  10. For a show where no one ever looks at the camera (as it should be), I was fascinated at how Katy knew exactly where every camera was and kept staring down the lens. Such a contrast to the judges and contestants. Absolutely Loved their reactions!!! Joyous television.

  11. Of the many great things about the new look Masterchef, chief among them is taking itself far less seriously. Even when Katy”s not around for the laughs, the whole things just much lighter and more fun than it has previously. A “Masterclass” in how to reinvent an ageing franchise! Well done to all involved.

  12. What a coup for MC to have Katy Perry! I’ve never been a fan but she was a real show. I hope Jock retains his new nickname. Also, when he’s in Masterclass mode, he really shines.
