Laura Carmichael to narrate Northern Pictures doco

A Wild Year on Earth is an epic look at how our planet’s most spectacular natural events interconnect.

Laura Carmichael (The Secrets She Keeps, Downton Abbey) will narrate a nature doco A Wild Year on Earth to be be produced by Australia’s Northern Pictures (Love on the Spectrum, Employable Me).

The six part series is an epic look at how our planet’s most spectacular natural events interconnect with all life on earth over the course of a turbulent year.

Dramatic 4K footage, shot across Asia, Australia, Europe, Africa, North America and South America provides breathtaking spectacles such as black kites hunting in the flames of wildfire.  Month by month, the series also charts the rhythms of the human calendar, through ritual and celebration.

Karina Holden is executive producing and Daniella Ortega series producing, while licensing will be handled by Blue Ant International.

Meanwhile Dawn to Dusk (6×60’) produced by Blue Ant-owned NHNZ examines the daily dramas that wildlife produces between sunrise and sunset. From the tropical forests of Asia to the arid Australian outback, the series unveils animals’ finely tuned and sometimes quirky day-to-day routines.

Australian broadcasters are yet to be announced.

  1. But why is it necessary? Why not? You could argue anything David Attenborough shouldn’t narrate anything he shots here in Australia then
