Returning: What We Do in the Shadows

Season 2 of vampire comedy series premieres in late June.

Season 2 of What We Do in the Shadows will screen on FOX Showcase from late June.

The vampire comedy series, based on the feature film by Jemaine Clement and Taika Waititi was recently renewed for a third season for 2021.

The 10-episode season began screening in the US last month.

The vampire housemates Nandor (Kayvan Novak), Nadja (Natasia Demetriou), Laszlo (Matt Berry) and ‘energy vampire’ Colin Robinson (Mark Proksch) all return to document their nightly exploits as they navigate the modern world of Staten Island, NY with the help of their human familiar Guillermo (Harvey Guillén).

Based on the feature film of the same name, over the course of another fun and original season, the vampires will try to find their way in a world of human Super Bowl parties, internet trolls, an energy vampire who gets a promotion and becomes drunk on power and of course, all the ghosts, witches, necromancers, zombies and shadowy cloaked assassins who roam freely in the Tri-State area. Is Guillermo destined to be a vampire or a vampire hunter? Or maybe just a familiar for the rest of his life?

Jemaine Clement created the series. Clement, Waititi and Paul Simms are Executive Producers with Scott Rudin, Garrett Basch, Eli Bush and Stefani Robinson. What We Do in the Shadows is produced by FX Productions.

Thursday, June 25 at 8.30pm on FOX Showcase.

  1. Season 1 was a bit hit and miss, but Season 2 turns it up to eleven … a lot funnier than the first season. Glad it’ll be around for a third season.

    1. I thought S1 was excellent. The only miss was Colin, whom they added for the TV show, they only had a couple of good uses of the character in the series.
