US character actor Jerry Stiller, best known for Seinfeld, The King of Queens has died, aged 92.
His son actor and producer Ben Stiller said on social media, “I’m sad to say that my father, Jerry Stiller, passed away from natural causes. He was a great dad and grandfather, and the most dedicated husband to Anne for about 62 years. He will be greatly missed. Love you Dad.”
Stiller starred as George Costanza’s father Frank, on Seinfeld from 1993 to 1998. His cantankerous temperament led to many fan favourite moments including “Serenity now!” and faux-holiday Festivus (for the rest of us).
He would later go on to play Arthur Spooner on The King of Queens from 1998 until 2007.
With wife Anna Meara he had appeared frequently as Stiller & Meara on The Ed Sullivan Show in the ’60s and ’70s.
Amongst his prolific credits are Fish Hooks, Teacher’s Pet, Tattingers, Sex and the City, The Larry Sanders Show, LA Law, Homicide: Life on the Street, Murder She Wrote, Trapper John MD, Simon & Simon, Private Benjamin, Hart to Hart, The Love Boat, Rhoda, The Carol Burnett Show, Love American Style, The Courtship of Eddie’s Father, Archie Bunker’s Place, and Heavyweights, The Heartbreak Kid, Zoolander, Hairspray, My 5 Wives, Serving Sara, Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy.

Festivus will be a sad day this year
Jerry Stiller was tears streaming down your face funny. A one of a kind performer who will never be replaced.
From what I saw of him, he was generally a supporting actor, but I came across the film ‘A Fish in a Bathtub’ many years ago where he played the lead. He was fantastic as the lead and it was nice film too.
RIP Jerry Stiller. You were a gem.

It’s good to see the main headline mentioned only Jerry Stiller ,unlike newscorp who mention his son Ben ,they must think his fans are morons.

And to think he wasn’t even the first actor cast in the role of Frank Costanza. What a life! What a marriage! Anne was equally talented And what joy he gave in his decades of performing. Jerry Stiller was a one off and will be sorely missed
