Danish mystery The Sommerdahl Murders will screen on Acorn TV next month.

This premiered internationally in March.

In the beautiful Danish coastal town of Helsingør, Detective Chief Inspector Dan Sommerdahl (Peter Mygind) is the undisputed hero at North Sjælland Police. But while he can look back at a remarkable history of solved homicides, things are not going as well for Dan at home. His wife, Chief Criminal Technician Marianne Sommerdahl (Laura Drasbæk), feels neglected and distant from her husband. When the body of a young woman washes up on a beach, Dan and his best friend, Detective Flemming Torp (André Babikian), quickly determine this was not an accident. When the pathologist informs them the woman recently gave birth, Dan and Flemming must not only find the murderer, but track down a missing baby before it is too late. Meanwhile, Marianne is waiting for Dan at her favourite restaurant to celebrate their 25th wedding anniversary. And as she realises that her husband has stood her up – once again – she decides that it is time to leave him for a life on her own.

As Dan moves out of the house, he sets up camp at his former bachelor pad – an antique sailing boat in Helsingør harbor. He is determined to win back the love of his life, but unaware his closest friend, Flemming, has been in love with Marianne since the first day they met. These new dynamics will put these relationships to the test, under the stress of trying to solve new murders and keep the city safe.
