A Florida sheriff has now confirmed rumours that the will of Don Lewis, the missing husband of Carole Baskin, was forged.

Hillsborough County sheriff Chad Chronister told media, “They called in some experts to say that the will was a forgery and I had already told them that two months ago.

“They had two experts deem it 100% a forgery.”

Lewis went missing in 1997 and was declared dead in 2002 while his estate, worth up to $10 million, was left to Baskin and cut out his own family.

While Chronister could confirm the will was forged, he explained how the statuette of limitations for pursuing legal action has passed.

“That’s the only reason. There’s no recourse,” he said. “A judge deemed it valid. So the civil side of it, with the execution of the will [and] dispersement of the funds is one thing. But then you have the criminal side which is unable to prosecute.”

Chronister confirmed that investigations on the matter have not concluded.

  1. Just finished streaming this after starting it a while ago, what a twisted lot, all of them, was so great to watch as each episode was more bizarre than the next and was edited/ordered so well to reveal the next wacky revelation.
I wonder if they will release another episode to bring us up to date with these further revelations, hard to believe Don Lewis’s daughters said the will was clearly fake at the time, but nothing happened!
