Fremantle, 720 Creative to adapt kids’ series Billie B Brown

Best-selling Kids' mystery character is getting a TV adaptation.

 

Fremantle will step into Children’s Drama after acquiring the rights to children’s book series Billie B Brown by author, Sally Rippin.

Together with development partners 720 Creative the option marks one of the first ventures between the two companies, which includes children’s series, light entertainment and documentary.

Coinciding with the tenth anniversary of the best-selling mysteries, the co-production has funding through Film Victoria’s Development on Demand Fund. Rippin is currently Australia’s best-selling female author publishing more than 70 books and selling more than 5 million copies of Billie B Brown in 14 languages.

The development team includes comedy writers Fiona Harris and Mike McLeish, and author Sally Rippin.

Sally Rippin, said: “I celebrated Billie’s 10th birthday by releasing three new books and now this, Billie and I are thrilled. It’s a great next step for Billie and I am loving this collaboration with Fremantle and 720 Creative.”
