  1. I also wouldn’t be surprised if BB’s ratings dropped now that the biggest personality is out. What concerns me is that not only are we left with bland housemates but that when it comes time for us to vote on a winner we will be no closer to understanding who they really are, because this format doesn’t encourage that. For example, housemates have commented that Mat would be hard to beat in the final because he’s a loveable larrikin from Broken Hill, but that’s barely translating to viewers. Same with Dan being a likeable jock, Kieran being a goofy kid who can’t drive etc.

What they tried so hard to set up in the pre-show adverts was the care factor, people we could get invested in. Instead all we get is strategising and gameplay (none of which has been very good btw), and too much of it at the hands of shoddy editing. I couldn’t care less who wins.

  2. Last night’s HYBPA felt a bit tighter and slicker, fewer zoom call hesitation pauses than normal. Almost seamlessly like the usual show (apart from the deliberate jokes playing with the adjusted format).

    1. I believe that I read someone (most likely here) that the HYBPA crew are now back all filming at the Como (with the exception of interstate/international guests) so there is less lag in the recording between Tom and the contestants (in particular Sam & Ed).

  3. Wonder when Nine will make a call on another complete refresh of Today? I would think end of the year. Really starting to trail Sunrise and News Breakfast now.

      1. They need to do something with it, particularly if it ends the year 3rd in breakfast. The show has really never recovered from the messy Lisa Wilkinson departure a few years ago.

          1. Its not that Today is that bad, it s an ok show but Sunrise is exceptional and News Breakfast is a credible alternative.

  4. Despite saying I wouldn’t, I ended up watching BB. I wonder if ratings will go down now that the most entertaining housemate is gone. I’ve certainly lost interest. I can’t stand Mat and would be angry if he wins with that two-faced “simple Aussie bloke” routine. Once Marissa goes (she’s undoubtedly next), it’s just another BB season with a bunch of bland, white 20-somethings.

    1. I’m wondering too if the ratings will suffer because of Angies departure. Out of all of them she’s the only one who had an ounce of personality and I think she’s the only one who has the possibility of a post BB media career. I agree the rest that are left are bland and after watching last night I don’t really care who wins now. I think Casey spoke for the first time last night haha. Closely followed by Xavier. Obviously the Producers are bored with them too by not showing them. I really don’t like Dan and Matt. Perhaps Chad for the win but I don’t feel like I need to watch every episode now to get my dose of Angelicious!!!
