Seven wins quiet Thursday

Ratings: MasterChef tops entertainment and pushes 10 into second place behind Seven.

The return of The Front Bar helped Seven to a winning share last night, drawing 338,000 viewers which was enough to win its 8:30 timeslot (outside of MasterChef‘s final half hour). That figure includes 7mate’s tiny crowd of Sydney (8,000) and Brisbane (4,000) viewers.

MasterChef Australia was easily the top entertainment drawcard at 970,000 viewers and topping the demos.

It beat 7:30 (556,000), Britain’s Got Talent (485,000) and Thursday Night NRL (324,000 in 2 cities).

Later Law and Order: SVU repeats drew 322,000 / 211,000 then Grand Designs Australia (285,000), The World’s Most Beautiful Railway (255,000)

Seven network won Thursday with 27.3%, then 10 24.8%, Nine 24.7%, ABC 14.8% and SBS 8.4%.

Seven News was #1 with 1.1m / 1.04m for Seven then The Chase (641,000 / 373,000) and Home and Away (637,000). Movie Blended was 95,000 in 2 cities.

The Project drew 572,000 / 389,000 for 10 then 10 News First (405,000 / 278,000).

Nine News (1.04m / 1.02m) was best for Nine then A Current Affair (689,000) and Hot Seat (552,000 / 337,000). RBT was 213,000 in 3 cities. A Mission Impossible movie was 104,000 in 3 cities. On 9GEM NRL drew 44,000 in 3 cities.

ABC News won its slot at 818,000. Sammy J (353,000), The Heights (207,000), The Drum (215,000) and Father Brown (173,000) followed.

On SBS it was SBS World News (170,000), Britain’s Most Historic Towns (166,000) and Mastermind (103,000). ZeroZeroZero was just 65,000.

NCIS led multichannels at 202,000.

  1. There appears to be continued problems with Seven’s playout system. Before the final chase on The Chase Australia, the 6pm news headlines in Sydney were those from Queensland. I don’t understand how this keeps happening.

    1. Those ratings for Miss Scarlett actually look good, will be one of Seven’s highest rating multi-channel programs for the week (both of them).

      1. I enjoyed Miss Scarlett and The Duke…did drop off 2nd ep…but not sure if because viewers did not care for it…of just needed to go to bed?
        I had to watch again on 7plus because of a number of interruptions……
        I will watch there next week….I stayed on 7TWO all night….usually stay on 10 Masterchef nights.

  2. At least Seven have time to find a main channel alternative for the NRL states before next Wednesday – a show/cast that only appeals to the AFL heartland?
