Studio 10 was forced to apologise to its audience this morning after “Sydney’s meanest TV critic, Rudi Vanderstone” (aka TripleM’s Lawrence Mooney) dropped some clangers at the expense of industry names.
It wasn’t so much that he called the 10 morning show “a place on television where careers can go to die,” or that he described MAFS as “real estate agents and beauticians falling in love under the auspices of alcohol to rub their skin together….”
It wasn’t even lamenting that this weekend he would have been “waiting around for 3 hours for a woke speech from a half-talent voted by the Australian public as Gold.”
But it may have been the gag at the expense of Ryan Phelan, mispronouncing David Koch with a Dutch accent and referring to morning TV as home to “sl*t-shamming and casual racism.”
The look on Natarsha Belling’s face said it all… she soon apologised to viewers.
“We just need to apologise for our viewers for the offensive language in that last segment,” she said.
“For everything in fact!” Joe Hildebrand added.
Tomorrow for “TV’s morning of mornings” TripleM‘s Rudi will launch The Steaming Brown Logies for 2020″ in honour of the weekend the authorised event was due to be held.

I thought he was funny. Most jokes have an element of truth in them.
His analysis of the project a few weeks ago was absolutely brilliant. His awards show was rather amusing.
As others have said, it sounds like he was absolutely spot on!
Sometimes the truth hurts!
Quick everybody! Hide and take shelter from those who are outraged by this! Rocks will be thrown! 😂🤣
Mooney just as funny as he was on Denise – not very. For me, always trying but never hitting the mark.
Is Sam Simmons writing for Lawrence Mooney now, as it sounds like the kind of stuff Sam used to say as the “Hollywood Reporter” on Dirty Laundry Live, then again that was later and 5 – 7 years ago.
As always, comedy is in the eye of the beholder. I always thought he was a bit of a loose cannon to appear on any show that didn’t want to be shocked. Sometimes he hits the mark, but other times it is purely shock pieces that rely on profanity. Again horses for courses and he probably won’t get invited back to that show and possible a few others of a similar ilk. If he can afford to burn off these income streams then good luck to him.
Based on the quotes in your article I’d say he nailed the industry perfectly. Anyone complaining about what he said needs to have a good hard look at themselves in the mirror.
agreed
I had the misfortune of hearing the same routine on the radio this morning. I have never found him funny in the slightest.
I watched the Segment, thought it was hilarious
Someone should’ve listened to Rudi’s schtick before they had him on and they would’ve realised what was coming. Too late now to be getting their granny panties in twist because they’re too uptight to laugh at themselves and the flailing industry they represent. No wonder nobody is watching Studio 10 anymore.
I wouldn’t call them clangers. Anyway, someone get the video uploaded soon, hey.
Is it on 10 Play?

Conspicuously absent.
Stick with my ABC
How can they possibly be surprised by Mooney’s behaviour? His unfiltered comments are typical. They should read the label before buying!
