  1. Interesting, Sydney and Brisbane are still doing some heavy lifting for the AFL as last year same Thursday it was 16,000 and 9,000, so Sydney doing just over double again and Brisbane doing just over triple will make 7 happy.

    1. Ch 9 still not including multichannels – might have helped lift NRL off 20th place – don’t know why they don’t include them, it can’t be good if a show misses out on the top 20

      1. By last week it was 16,000 for multi’s as David mentioned in that News article: https://tvtonight.com.au/2020/06/afl-delivers-bumper-seven-share.html

So yeah if it was a little bit more this time may have got them to 19th, NRL tend to do well in the Regional Ratings as well, so going by Foxtel being only 15,000 behind AFL that may also show a better light on them. They are up on last year so it’s not the covid-19 break and people thinking the game is not up to scratch yet, though of course last year there was an ICC World Cup Australian Match on GEM as well so that would have taken some viewers as well as the AFL was also way lower last year.

        1. Note: I just looked up last weeks and couldn’t get to Thursday but on Friday with the multis included:

          AFL
          Geelong v Hawthorn
          Seven 994,000 (Metro 750,000. Regional 244,000)
          Fox Footy 284,000

          NRL
          Eels v Panthers
          Nine 547,000 (Metro 326,000. Regional 221,000)
          Fox League 298,000

So close in Regional but Foxtel better for NRL.
