Prolific US actress Mary Pat Gleason, best known for Mom and Desperate Housewives has died aged 70.
She died following a battle with cancer.
On Mom she played Mary, an AA member who was frequently interrupted by Bonnie (Allison Janney) when she shared her problems with the group.
Her extensive TV credits include The Blacklist, American Housewife, WTF 101, Will & Grace, Shameless, Instant Mom, Mistresses, Baby Daddy, Grey’s Anatomy, Te=he Bridge, Scandal, Desperate Housewives, The Middle, Hawaii Five-0, NCIS: Los Angeles, United States of Tara, Chuck, The Mentalist, The Middleman, Nip / Tuck, Providence, Sex and the City, Suddenly Susan, NYPD Blue and more.
Film credits included Basic Instinct, The Crucible, Intolerable Cruelty, A Cinderella Story, Sierra Burgess Is a Loser.

I don’t remember her in Desperate Housewives. But I do remember her as the angry nurse in Friends. I was surprised not to see Friends in her long list of credits.
She also won a daytime Emmy as part of the writing team for a drama series in 1986
Great face. Memorable character actor. Gone too soon.
