Violence, horror themes.

Walking Dead spin-off Fear The Walking Dead is getting a Free to Air broadcast on SBS VICELAND.

When it launched in 2015 this enjoyed the biggest ever launch in cable history in the USA, although it hasn’t quite managed to uphold such glory.

This will screen in double episodes across 6 weeks. Seasons 1 and 2 will also be available on SBS On Demand following the broadcast of the first episode.

Taking place in the same universe as The Walking Dead, Fear The Walking Dead is a gritty drama that explores the onset of the undead apocalypse through the lens of a fractured family.

Series One, Episode One: Pilot
A highly dysfunctional blended family is forced together when they realise a reported virus is actually the onset of the undead apocalypse.

Episode Two: So Close, Yet So Far
While Madison struggles to keep Nick from crippling withdrawal, Travis ventures out to find his son before the city of Los Angeles falls.

Saturday, 18 July at 9.20pm on SBS VICELAND.

  1. I’ve just downloaded the sbs on demand app and been enjoying the content on there. I’ve been wanting to get into this show. Look forward to it.

  2. The first three seasons were great, and then Gimple takes over as the showrunner and killed the show. I haven’t watched an episode since that certain death in midseason finale of S4.

  3. Great first season … mediocre but watchable second season … fantastic third season … and then season 4 so awful I switched off mid season and never bothered to watch season 5 and I understand I’m not missing anything.

    1. Agree, such a shame that they’ve butchered it, they seemed to move too quickly past the original outbreak too when they could have explored so much there, now though it’s just such a mess not worth watching.

    1. It’s an interesting show. Also, I didn’t realise until very recently that the actress who plays the daughter of the main family is Australian.
