Big Brother basement? Baloney….

Let's put this one down to the "magic of television...."

Put it down to the “magic of television….”

For weeks Big Brother has been telling contestants and viewers about his basement where challenges are taking place.

But there aren’t many basement ceilings that would have an A-frame structure….

It isn’t clear if challenges are taking place in an adjacent building or nearby. Woman’s Day previously speculated contestants are “blindfolded, covered with a hoodie and then driven to the challenge set in a small bus.

“While they’re being transferred, there’s to be no talking,” a source suggested.
Either outcome would see contestants contradicting the fundamental of being in strict lockdown.

  1. The “basement” is actually filmed in the Artillery gym building within the barracks that is a couple of minute drive away from the house. If you google it you’ll see the res roof supports that match on the show. They have just dressed it to look like a “basement” .

This means the housemates are actually being taken outside of the house compound. Which is a massive breach of the whole idea of the show. The most falsified and scripted series ever.

  2. Why are all the challenges about Physical strength? Kieran and to a lesser degree Sarah don’t stand a chance of winning them! This show has become boring and predictable as the physically strong keep winning the challenge. Giving the challenge winner sole power to decide who is nominated has destroyed show. Doesn’t help when at start of episode they show you who wins challenge!!!! Hope they change this next year. Let the winner nominate 1 person and all housemates vote for other nominees. Don’t let them discuss voting. Just because rest of world does show this way doesn’t mean its better than the way we did nominations in past

    1. I kinda agree – I love the new format and think it has great potential but there needs to be a few mental challenges – (logic puzzles, brain teasers, ect). That would diversify the skills required to win challenges and diversify the winners/Nominators – making the game more unpredictable episode to episode.

          1. I just mean is there any info none on how many there will be? Tv Blackbox has reported 20, whist New Zealand’s rating card has 23. Not saying you have, just wondering if there is any word on what the actual number is or if it is pretty much just not known.

  3. Now I could be wrong, and I have not done a single ounce of fact checking on this, so don’t shoot me if I’m wrong, but isn’t the “basement” the same space where most of the Biggest Loser was filmed, and I seem to recall it had windows back then, which I can only assume are covered to give the impression that it’s underground now.

  4. This season is so phony. I watched it for the first time the other night, and can’t believe they they replaced the mirrors with a black fabric where the cameras and camera operators hands are visible.

I remember years ago when contestants said they forgot they were being filmed and let their guard down. No chance of that anymore..

I get the need to evolve the game, but the integrity of the game matches the integrity of the network bringing it to air. 🤷‍
    The magic is gone.

  5. I think most people worked this out straight away. The height clearance in the ‘basement’ for me was the first giveaway. Always assumed they just walked to a tent set up close by.

  6. The same applies to Survivor. A few years back somebody had to be medically evacuated due to injuries sustained on the boat ride to the challenge. But we never saw it because they don’t film them on the boat & they are not allowed to talk.

  7. I thought it was the building attached to the main house seen from the aerial shots.
And as a side observation, why does every challenge in the ‘basement’ feel like it’s a Biggest Loser challenge?
