  1. Here are some interesting but pointless facts about this years nominations

*Four out of the six nominees for best Guest Actress in a drama were nominated last year. These are Cherry Jones, Laverne Cox, Phylicia Rashad and Cicely Tyson. Last year Jessica Lange and Carice Van Houten were nominated but Alexis Bedel and Harriet Walters are.

*Ron Cephas Jones is nominated once again for best guest actor for This is Us and his daughter Jasmine Cephas Jones is nominated for Outstanding Actress in a Short Form Comedy or Drama Series

*Here are some people with three/ fours nominations – Dan Levy (Producing, Writing, Directing and supporting Actor for Schitt’s Creek), Jason Bateman (lead actor and directing The Ozarks, Best guest actor for The Outsider), Maya Rudolph (best voice over for Big Mouth, two nomination for best guest actress in a comedy for The Good Place and SNL), Issa Rae…

  2. Big snub for Kristen Bell for The Good Place considering three co stars were nommed. And Lily Tomlin and Grace and Frankie overlooked. Annie Potts in Young Sheldon and Larry David for Curb although it got a Comedy Series nod.

  3. Thank god Hollywood didn’t get nominated for Best Limited Series- definitely nosedived halfway through.
Poor Reese Witherspoon – she had her fingers in so many pies (Big Little Lies, Little Fires Everywhere, Morning Show) yet no nominations anywhere. Witherspoon but Withoutanemmy

  4. Yay! Schitt’s Creek managed a clean sweep of acting noms. So delighted for the 4 main stars. Especially Daniel and Annie. Last chance for this series. My hope is that Catherine O’Hara will win. Just a one off portrayal. Unforgettable character.

  5. Baby Yoda (aka the Child) for best supporting actor in a drama please!

    I kid I kid.
I’m pleasantly satisfied with most nominations here.

Except… ‘Normal People’ being snubbed so heavily in most categories it was eligible for is a criminal offence.

  6. I don’t even recognise half of those comedies. Where’s Young Sheldon? It’s one of the funniest shows on TV. I’m surprised Nicole isn’t up for Big Little Lies or Rose Byrne for Mrs America. Good to see so many Aussies nominated.
