Living Black, Australia’s longest running Indigenous news and current affairs program, this week presents a special programme, “Aboriginal Lives Matter.”
Against the backdrop of the global Black Lives Matter movement, there have been urgent calls for action to be taken over Aboriginal Deaths in custody. Rallies have been taking place nation-wide in Australia. In light of these events Karla Grant speaks with three families who have lost loved ones while in custody. Intimate and sensitive interviews and photographs bring the heartbreaking stories to life. The families of David Dungay Jnr, Rebecca Maher and Nathan Reynolds share their raw stories of how much those who have passed are loved and cherished. Taking this movement beyond just statistics as they tell how their lives were much more than their tragic final chapter. Their lives matter.
Wednesday, 15 July at 8.30pm on NITV.

asking if there criminal history will be mentioned . wonder if this will get removed
As it refers to custody I would expect so. You can tune in if you are curious, I guess.
Their criminal history is irrelevant to their deaths in custody surely. We don’t have capital punishment in Australia.
