US to remake The Chase

Hit UK game show is now going big stateside.

The US is set to remake The Chase -not for the first time.

The series ran from 2013 to 2015 on Game Show Network but now it will be produced for ABC.

ABC recently ran a Jeopardy: Greatest of All Time tournament earlier this year and there are reports champs Ken Jennings, James Holzhauer and Brad Rutter could become Chasers, along with and Who Wants to Be a Millionaire contestants.

The Chase has aired in the UK since 2009 and the Australian adaptation has been on Seven since 2015.

  1. Wasn’t a fan of the last American version with Brooke Burns as host and The Beast as the only chaser. Would love to see an attempt with James Holzhauer involved. He was a crack up in the Jeopardy GOAT series with his trash talk.

  2. I have noticed the USA has replicated a few UK shows but not done a good job. The USA don’t spend much money for a start and they tend to use celebrities eg Gogglebox

  3. Many game shows have come and gone. Some were great and some fell by the wayside. The Chase is definitely up there with the best television game shows of all time. I personally prefer the UK version partly for the charismatic host Bradley Walsh. I think a game show multichannel should be up for consideration, along with music video channels and other channels that are not yet available on Australian free-to-air television though are available in overseas countries, instead of the almost identical type of existing channels introduced like 7Food, home shopping and similarly themed general entertainment channels from the commercial networks.

  4. I watched the Greatest of All time as it played out on Hulu and alot of the episodes when Ken Jennings got on the roll he did. Ken Jennings, James Holzhauer and Brad Rutter are all off the charts in terms of their knowledge and game play. It would be pretty exceptional for them to lose a final chase if this were to happen.
