ABC had a strong night last night, with a winning schedule from 7pm – 10pm.
Hard Quiz was the top entertainment drawcard at 698,000 viewers.
That was ahead of 7:30 (608,000), The Bachelor (582,000), RBT (447,000), Highway Patrol (351,000 / 285,000) and Britain’s Ancient Tracks (262,000).
Later Shaun Micallef’s Mad as Hell won its slot with (622,000) then the season finale of Rosehaven (500,000), Emergency (498,000), America’s Got Talent (254,000) and The Salisbury Poisonings (244,000).
Nine network won Wednesday with 26.9% then Seven 24.3%, ABC 19.3%, 10 19.0% and SBS 10.5%.
Seven News was #1 with 1.07m / 1.05m. The Chase drew 605,000 / 380,000 then Home & Away (613,000).
Nine News (1.01m / 934,000) was best for Nine then A Current Affair (712,000) and Hot Seat (521,000 / 287,000). Botched was 287,000.
ABC News won its slot at 752,000 for ABC. Planet America (319,000) and The Drum (190,000) followed.

Hungry Ghosts beaten by NCIS on 10 Bold in Melbourne alone!
I am enjoying hungry ghosts but would get more out of it if I knew some Vietnamese folk law. Shades of Glitch in parts.
It’s funny…when Pointless was on, so many people whinged about the “pathetic” prize money, yet look at the ratings for Hard Quiz. I guess it proves that Pointless should have been on ABC, but then they would have to give money away.
Pointless was on the ABC.The English version that is.
Yeah I wasn’t referring to that.
The english version of Pointless was great but channel ten (as they often do ) made a pale imitation.
I watched pointless a couple of times and found the format of the show fairly unentertaining.
Hard quiz on the other hand is appealing and entertaining. Most weeks i only find 1 or 2 of the special subjects of interest (last night it was none) but the interplay between Tom and the contestants is always amusing and entertaining, even last night.
Yes but my point was simply about the prize money. I can almost guarantee that some people that complained about the lack of money on Pointless watch Hard Quiz.
Those commenting on the prize money were listing it as one of several problems with the Aus version of the show. If the Aus version had copied the UK version closely, the low prize money would be a non-issue. Many shows offer no money or minimal, it is the quality of the play that is important.
I normally watch the Bachelor but not this time around as I’ m not a fan of Locky.
Found him immensely annoying and full of himself in Aus Survivor so has put me off watching this season of Bachelor.
Ouch! The Bachelor slipping under 600k
I really do not like this season of the bachelor.
It’s usually the casting of the competitors that make the show , but they r just annoying lol
The obvious problems with the Bach are, 1. They are padding out each episode, I mean 1 per cocktail party is ridiculous, 2. The contestants who are only really there to boost their own social media profile are now very transparent and are getting the air time they desire
