  1. They chose the wrong AFL game to telecast last night. I would be happy not to see Richmond play again, but was looking forward to the Bombers and Hawks.

      1. Agree and I think they’ve got the weighting between nice ‘genuine’ contestants and ‘instagramers’ wrong. It’s the same issue they had with Bachelor in Paradise. By that I mean people watch these shows either for the drama, the romance, or a bit of both. I think a bit of MAFS has crept into all the dating shows lately, as they all amp up the drama at the expense of romance. That’s put off people who like a good balance of romance and in our household we like the ‘genuine’ people and the romance, so were not watching it live anymore.

We record it and fast forward all the ‘drama’, particularly the cocktail parties. Once you do that and take out the adds, there’s only 20 or so minutes of content that interests us. That’s certainly not enough to watch a whole episode live.

  2. Was watching Neighbours last night…then all of a sudden an ad for Google box being on “tonight”. And i hadn’t seen any advertising for it before that. Is it just me or it hasn’t had much/any promotion leading up to it?

  3. SBS should have played Hungry Ghosts over 4 weeks rather than 4 nights. It gives people a chance to catch up if they missed the first episode (either On Demand, or an encore screening).
Giving people the chance to catch up is important otherwise they aren’t going to tune in to episode 2 etc.

Plus they disrupted all their regular programming. I wanted to see Sydney’s Super Tunnel on Wednesday night. Sigh.

    1. SBS has dabbled quite a bit with how local dramas play out. Sometimes once a week… sometimes 3 nights, now 4, sometimes 8:30 or 9:30. In this case I would read it as a 9:30 slot to avoid reality overruns, but possibly they felt the material wasn’t quite strong enough for 8:30. So they gave it a ripper drama as lead-in. Will lift with Timeshifted and On Demand, as it should.
