New-look Masked Singer
There are protective screens, a moshpit of dancing animals and boosted production values on 10 singing show.

The second of 10’s Masked Singer episodes was filmed last night in Melbourne (where the show can continue under Stage 4 restrictions).
This year the show will look very different.
There’s no studio audience, but there are a costumed characters mosh pit-style (with everything from pandas to sideshow clowns).
Guessing panelists Dannii Minogue, Dave Hughes, Jackie O and new addition Urzila Carlson are all separated by screen dividers.
An online panel of “superfans” watch 3 battle rounds in around 30 minutes and vote for their favourite acts -but aren’t privy to who is eliminated, nor the celebrity unmasked. Producers Warner Bros. were forced to quickly change plans after Riverside Parramatta was reluctant to proceed with live patrons.
10’s head of entertainment and factual Stephen Tate also told Mediaweek this year the show has secured The Squared Division [Antony Ginandjar and Ashley Evans] as creative directors -both have previously worked staged The X Factor and worked on Asia’s Got Talent, So You Think You Can Dance, Dancing With The Stars, Australia’s Got Talent and with acts including Ricky Martin, Katy Perry, Nick Jonas and more.
He also revealed, the entertainment shutdown has aided the cast list.
“Artists who would not normally have been available to consider doing The Masked Singer have said yes. Our reveals will be absolutely extraordinary. You won’t believe who we have got. It truly is amazing. The calibre of the artists has given us an embarrassment of riches.”
But host Osher Gunsberg also has some clashes with filming for The Bachelorette, and Tate appears to hint he may not front every episode.
“It’s a juggle. We will have to find some creative workarounds for the production of The Bachelorette. He will certainly have a presence throughout the entire series of The Masked Singer. He has the energy of 10 hosts. What helps us face the logistical issues is that Warner Bros is the producer of both shows which will help make it work.”

the amount of reality tv on is getting way to ridiculous
This isn’t reality tv, it’s light entertainment.
It looks amazing. I can’t wait to watch The Masked Singer.
I am not in 10s preferred demo but this looks more fun than last year and in these times I will be watching.
The mindless nonsense we all need right now. You’d think this will do very well again this year.
