Here are the August highlights for true crime channel Oxygen, which is available on Fetch.
All are now screening.
Deadly Cults
“Deadly Cults” uncovers the shocking secrets behind real-life murder cases involving members of killer cults. Each episode recounts a different investigation and exposes how deranged cult leaders coerced their followers into committing horrendous acts of violence. Featuring interviews with the investigators, former cult members, and family and friends closest to the victims, the series examines the psychology of cults and reveals how blind faith can lead followers down a dark and deadly path.
Stop, Search, Seize S2
“Stop Search Seize” is an absorbing obs-doc series following the crucial work of the men and women fighting to protect Ireland’s borders. Ireland’s unique location between Europe and North America makes it a magnet for organised gangs attempting to smuggle everything from drugs, money and guns to cars, tobacco and even exotic animals. Capturing the action at the country’s ports and airports, as well as its border with Northern Ireland, this series offers a close-up look at the challenges and struggles facing customs officials, security guards, the Garda (police) and the coast guard as they battle to safeguard Ireland’s borders, people and tourists.
Reported Missing S1 & S2
250,000 people go missing every year in Britain including 100,000 children. The first 72 hours after someone is reported missing are the most vital. If you’re not found within those three days, you may never be. This series follows the hunt for three missing people from the moment their family reports them missing, through the first 72 hours of the search, to a result.
Each episode contains three stories with one story unfolding in detail across the series and the two small stories playing out from start to finish in each episode. CCTV footage from the last sightings of the missing person is used to try to locate them, alongside interviews with family and friends to give more information about where they could be.
