QI to resume filming with studio audiences

Long-running quiz show becomes the first UK programme to resume with a studio audience after COVID restrictions.

QI is set to become the first UK programme to resume filming in front of a studio audience amid the coronavirus pandemic.

The long-running quiz show, hosted by Sandi Toksvig, will film in front of a studio audience at BBC Television Centre on Monday with fans being subjected to strict protocols.

The audience will be temperature checked and there will be sanitisation and social distancing.

As part of the safety protocols, groups of 4 are being accepted into the studio, provided they are in the same bubble or household.

QI airs in Australia on ABC.

  1. Interesting … QI season 18 “R” has already been broadcast in the UK & 2 episodes 5 & 6 were filmed without an audience. I believe these episodes were filmed in June … based on their broadcast dates. In both episodes the show opened with Sandi standing amongst the empty studio audience chairs explaining why there was no audience.

However, episode 7 (broadcast July 9th) through episode 11 (broadcast Aug 6th) were all filmed with a full studio audience in place.

  2. Tipping Point is also going back into production over the next week or so …. Ben Shepard who hosts is stepping away from Good Morning Britain for a couple of weeks to do so…
