Apple TV+ comedy Ted Lasso has been renewed for a second season of 10 new episodes.
The good news comes less than a week after the series premiered.
The series stars Jason Sudeikis as a small-time college football coach from Kansas hired to coach a professional soccer team in England despite having no experience coaching soccer.
Variety notes the character originally appeared in an NBC Sports video in 2013 to help promote the fact that NBC Sports would begin broadcasting English Premier League games. It proved so successful that NBC brought the character back the following year to serve as an analyst.

Just watched the trailer, looks impressive. Was prompted by co-creator Bill Lawrence turning up on the Scrubs rewatch podcast recently and him and Zach Braff talking a bit about Ted Lasso and the episode Zach directed for it. Jason was great in 30 Rock, looks just as good here.
I wasn’t sure about this until episode 3, very good.
