Racing Dreams: The Everest, which is produced in partnership with Racing NSW, TAB and Arrowfield, screens on SKY News tomorrow.
Hosted by Tim Gilbert and Julie Snook, the one-hour live weekly program will provide an access-all-areas look from every corner of the horse racing industry, following Australia’s most promising contenders in preparation to conquer the world’s richest race on turf – The TAB Everest.
Over ten weeks, Tim and Julie will speak with leading thoroughbred trainers, ambitious owner syndicates, champion jockeys, up-and-coming riders and expert contributors, with a range of live interviews and backstage footage for an insider’s look into the trackside action ahead of this year’s The TAB Everest.
In the first episode tomorrow, Julie Snook speaks with the 2019 The Everest champion and three-time Melbourne Cup winning jockey, Glen Boss to discuss last year’s victory and how his preparations have changed in 2020 amid the coronavirus pandemic.
Trainer of The TAB Everest 2020 runner Classique Legend, Les Bridge and racing manager, Carmel Size will also join Tim during the episode to discuss their training and plans for the lucrative sprint in October.
Chairman and owner of Arrowfield Stud, John Messara joins the program, celebrating a historic fourth consecutive General Sires’ Premiership title with Snitzel and what his hopes are for the upcoming racing season.
Sky Racing expert Lizzie Jelfs will also cast her eye over the runners and will provide viewers with her pick of the yard on who will perform at this year’s richest race on turf.
In the lead up to The TAB Everest on Saturday 17 October at Royal Randwick Racecourse, the final field will be determined, and the program will focus on the emotional highs and lows of the trainers, jockeys and owners set to race for a share of the $15 million in prizemoney.
