SBS on Demand: The Feed

UK sci-fi centres around technology implanted into peoples' brains, and features David Thewlis.

2019 UK sci-fi The Feed (not to be confused with local current affairs show) will screen at SBS on Demand.

The series is based on Nick Clark Windo’s 2018 novel of the same name, about technology implanted into peoples’ brains that enables them to share information, emotions and memories.

The cast included David Thewlis (Harry Potter, Fargo), Guy Burnett (Counterpart) and Michelle Fairley (Game of Thrones, Fortitude).

This debuted in the UK last September. All ten episodes available to stream.

From the writer and co-executive producer of one of America’s highest rated scripted show, The Walking Dead, comes an original drama series about our addiction to technology, our fear of what it is doing to our brains and our terror of what would happen if we had to live without it.

Set in London in the near future, the series centres on the family of the man who has invented an omnipresent technology called The Feed. Implanted into nearly everyone’s brain, it enables people to share information, emotions and memories instantly.

When the system starts to go wrong and users become murderous, the inventor’s family are quickly driven apart as they struggle to control the monster they have unleashed.

Thursday, 20 August on SBS On Demand.
