Gallery: The Masked Singer (US) costumes

Updated: A Baby Alien, Popcorn, Snow Owls, Lips and something called a Whatchamacalit... soon on 10.

A Baby Alien, Popcorn, Snow Owls, Lips and something called a Whatchamacalit are amongst 16 costumes set for The Masked Singer‘s next US season.

While it doesn’t air in Australia (at least not yet anyway*), it’s interesting to compare the costumes with Australia. Our own Tim Chappel is every bit as good a designer as these …and some of his creations are better.

Also featuring are Crocodile, Gremlin, Mushroom, Jellyfish,  Squiggly Monster, Popcorn, Sun, Dragon, Giraffe, Seahorse, and Serpent.

*Updated: 10 has confirmed the series will air in Australia soon.

Hosted by American comedian Nick Cannon, The Masked Singer USA has a killer guessing panel comprising of Nicole Scherzinger from The Pussycat Dolls, Ken Jeong from The Hangover, American actress and model Jenny McCarthy, and singer-songwriter Robin Thicke.

Season four of The Masked Singer USA promises a line-up that includes four celebrities who have their name etched into the Hollywood Walk of Fame, five who have sung at NFL Super Bowls, and together the masked singers have a combined 281 million record sales between them. Plus, there’s even one star that’s made the cut on Time’s 100 Most Influential People list.

    1. You know many D-grade daytime soap stars, weather presenters and retired NRL and MLB players? We’d all be like Lindsay Lohan having no idea who any of the celebrities are!

      1. It’s true that there are a lot of nobodies in the US version as well (especially in the first two seasons), but the last season had Dionne Warwick, Chaka Khan, Sarah Palin, Jesse McCartney, Drew Carey, and Tony Hawk. Not too bad a line-up considering that some are “legends” in their respective fields.

I’d’ve thought that lockdown would have enticed bigger names for the second Aussie season, but I recognise even fewer faces this season, and it seems that everybody already knows who the final three are.

        1. The new season is set to premiere on the 23rd of this month, meaning that 10 can fast-track it on Thursday nights (airing mere hours after the U.S.). Perhaps it will be replacing The Bachelor on Thursday nights at 7.30pm? I can’t see 10 wanting to push Googlebox to a 9.40pm/10.00pm start.

It would also make no sense to air prior seasons of the U.S. version as one can easily spoil the outcome by searching online. Season 3 would be nice to see though (maybe during summer non-ratings) considering that it had a number of big names.

  1. Do you think 10 might ever show the US version? Their cupboard looks quite bare for the rest of the year…maybe this could air over summer before I’m a Celebrity starts
