Hard Quiz tops entertainment in multiple ABC wins

Ratings: ABC won just about every timeslot last night after 7pm.

ABC show last night won just about every timeslot last night after 7pm.

Hard Quiz was the top entertainment drawcard at 729,000 viewers.

Tom Gleeson defeated The Block  (701,000) 7:30 (637,000), The Bachelor (584,000) and Highway Patrol (412,000 / 369,000).

Later Shaun Micallef’s Mad as Hell won his slot on 572,000, then Australian Crime Stories (379,000), and Utopia (376,000).

Elsewhere the Today show was back to fighting off News Breakfast as Sunrise rose.

Nine network won with 28.2% then Seven 26.0%, 10 19.4%, ABC 18.6% and SBS 7.7%.

Nine News (988,000 / 962,000) led for Nine then A Current Affair (694,000), Hot Seat (487,000 / 313,000). Footy Classified was 137,000 in 3 cities.

Seven News was #1 with 1.06m / 1.03m for Seven. Home and Away (627,000), The Chase (564,000 / 347,000) and Movie: Taken 3 followed.

The Project drew 464,000 / 286,000 for 10. 10 News First (348,000 / 225,000), Bull (231,000) followed.

ABC News also led its slot with 761,000 for ABC.  Planet America was another timeslot winner at 314,000 while The Drum pulled 193,000.

On SBS it was Arabia With Levison Wood (190,000), SBS World News (191,000), Hillary (166,000), Mastermind (73,000) and The Good Fight just 64,000.

NCIS led multichannels at 193,000.

News Breakfast: 138,000 / 66,000

  1. I’ll be watching the good fight on SBS On demand tonight. I’m sure others couldn’t be bothered waiting so long and watched it other ways thus lower ratings. Why SBS sat on it to tie it into the stupid US election is beyond me. But I’m looking forward to seeing this new season.

    1. If the Good Fight was on a commercial network it would be on at Midnight on a secondary channel being watched by a handful of insomniacs. S3 was awful and many of the limited viewers it had, including me stopped watching it. S4 is better but with the Covid Pandemic and rioting and the real campaign in progress, it was never going to seem that relevant anyway.

      1. Could still be bumped later by SBS if the ratings are poor-has happened with other high profile stuff like ‘Homeland’ but they probably weren’t expecting too much for the various above mentioned reasons.
