Liv Tyler exits 9-1-1: Lone Star
Another star drops out of show as the pandemic impacts trans-Atlantic travel.

UK-based Liv Tyler is exiting 9-1-1: Lone Star due to circumstances related to family and travel during the pandemic.
Her character Michelle Blake will not be recast, leaving open the possibility of a return in the future. But her absence will be filled next season by Gina Torres as Paramedic Captain Tommy Vega.
“What a thrill it was having a movie star of Liv Tyler’s stature to help us launch the first season of 9-1-1: Lone Star,” Tim Minear, series’ co-creator, executive producer and showrunner, said in a statement.
“We loved working with Liv and will be forever indebted to her for her haunting, powerful portrayal of Michelle Blake. While we were able to tell a complete chapter in Michelle’s story, as with Connie Britton on our mothership, we also feel like there are more stories to be told. The door here will always be open for a return.”
9-1-1: Lone Star airs in Australia on Seven.

The original 911 is great, but i feel like Lone Star is the quirky cousin. Entertaining but lacking the authenticity of the original. I can see they’re trying to create a One Chicago type franchise but it’s inconsistent.
I was sad to see Connie leave the original but i think Liv’s exit is actually a good thing.
Oh what a shame I really liked her character. Glad it’s left open for her to return.
Since when did Tommy become a girls name?
Google it, has been around for a while. Not popular but reached its peak in the 1920s and 30s.
I would think it’s supposed to be an affectionate diminutive of ‘Thomasina’-a very old fashioned given name!
Watched Gogglebox’s review on the show tonight….that was enough

Enjoyed first season but nowhere near the quality of Chicago Fire!
Liv Tyler is no great loss from this show. Her acting was very wooden and her accent in show was plain annoying.
I haven’t watched Lone Star yet, but the parent show is very much a guilty pleasure of mine. ‘Quality’ is not a word I’d use to describe it, but it’s fun, mindless nonsense.
