Paul Macionis appointed to Melb. production company

Ex-Foxtel exec becomes Chief Operating Officer at Australian Media House.

Former Foxtel executive Paul Macionis has been appointed Chief Operating Officer at Melbourne-based production company Australian Media House.

Operating under the Australian Production House banner, the company founded by Louise Schultze, specialise in music videos, children’s television, feature film production and international award nights.

From 2007, Macionis spent 10 years with Foxtel in several roles including Legal Counsel (Production & Acquisition) and Head of Business Affairs (Production & Distribution). He was actively involved in creating investment models and commercial negotiations for Foxtel local productions including Wentworth and A Place to Call Home.

He then worked with Matchbox Productions and NBCU Networks in Senior Legal and Business Affairs Consultant roles before a senior legal and executive role with business channel CNBC. Most recently, he was Vice President, Legal & Business Affairs, Asia at NBCUniversal Media in Singapore.

“After three years, tackling the Asia region during a period of rapid digital change, I am thrilled to return home and to work with APH,” he said. “I am impressed by the work that Louise Schultze and the talented APH team have done in a short time since its launch, and look forward to contributing to the company’s growth – both locally and globally.

“I am excited to return to Australian original production and re-engage with my industry peers to create & distribute amazing content, as well as ensure we collectively protect our important local industry.”
