Practice what you preach they say…

The Block host Scott Cam has revealed he bought an art deco apartment from The Block 2016, which was filmed in Port Melbourne.

The site, known as The Vault on air, is a former soap factory and the apartment was renovated as part of a group challenge.

“I loved this building so much I wanted to buy one of the apartments,” Scott told the Sunday Herald Sun.

“When it became available I said “yes” and went to the bank and said can I borrow some money, I want to buy one of these things,” he explained.

“To me it is a no-brainer buying a Block house,” said Scott.

Cam paid $2.2m for the apartment. At the show’s auction prices ranged from $2.25m – $2.6m.

He lives there 4 months of the year when filming the series in Melbourne, but also has an extensive property portfolio.

Cam is not the only celebrity to have purchased a Block property, with Dave Hughes famously buying into Elsternwick in 2017.
