Still Open All Hours ….may still be open

BBC denies reports that sitcom with David Jason has concluded.

A British report that sitcom Still Open All Hours has been axed by the BBC has been denied.

The follow up to the hit Ronnie Barker sitcom last screened in 2019, with the Daily Star claiming plans for more had been scrapped.

It even quoted star David Jason saying, “It’s a shame. There was an audience who loved it and we enjoyed bringing the madness of the characters to the screen.”

He indicated the writers planned to make one last series to bring “all the stories” to a natural conclusion.

But a BBC spokesperson told Radio Times no decision has been made as yet.

“‘There is no truth in this and discussions on future episodes are ongoing,” they said.

“The safety and wellbeing of all those involved in Still Open All Hours is our number one priority, and we have been unable to film this year due to COVID-19.”

Still Open All Hours, which also features James Baxter, airs in Australia on ABC.

  1. Thats the thing it is easy enough to shoot with all the restrictions. The only issues is that the age of the cast. I only bring that up is that the elderly cast of Coronation Street has only gone back three months after it went back
