UK audiences had to look twice at a recent semi-final of Britain’s Got Talent, with some feeling like they’d been there before…

They were greeted with a new-look and socially-distanced set, no Simon Cowell due to his recent accident and a virtual audience on a huge video wall.

It wasn’t too different to ‘Fifteen Million Merits’ a Black Mirror episode from 2011, where characters take part in a reality TV-style competition, with an animated audience in the background.
